【摘要】:1.1.Thisspecificationcoverstheprocedureandacceptancestandardsforstraight-beam,pulse-echo,ultrasonicexaminationofrolledcarbonandalloysteelplates,3/8in.[10mm]inthicknessandover,forspecialapplications.Themethodwilldetectinternaldiscontinuitiesparalleltotherolledsurfaces.Threelevelsofacceptancestandardsareprovided.Supplementaryrequirementsareprovidedforalternativeprocedures.1.2IndividualsperformingexaminationsinaccordancewiththisspecificationshallbequalifiedandcertifiedinaccordancewiththerequirementsofthelatesteditionofASNTSNT-TC-1Aoranequivalentacceptedstandard.Anequivalentstandardisonewhichcoversthequalificationandcertificationofultrasonicnondestructiveexaminationcandidatesandwhichisacceptabletothepurchaser.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
