【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofsulfurinpetroleumproducts,includinglubricatingoilscontainingadditives,additiveconcentrates,andlubricatinggreasesthatcannotbeburnedcompletelyinawicklamp.Thetestmethodisapplicabletoanypetroleumproductsufficientlylowinvolatilitythatitcanbeweighedaccuratelyinanopensampleboatandcontainingatleast0.1%sulfur.Note1-Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletosamplescontainingelementsthatgiveresidues,otherthanbariumsulfate,whichareinsolubleindilutehydrochloricacidandwouldinterfereintheprecipitationstep.Theseinterferingelementsincludeiron,aluminum,calcium,silicon,andleadwhicharesometimespresentingreases,lubeoiladditives,oradditiveoils.Otheracidinsolublematerialsthatinterferearesilica,molybdenumdisulfide,asbestos,mica,andsoforth.Thetestmethodisnotapplicabletousedoilscontainingwearmetals,andleadorsilicatesfromcontamination.SamplesthatareexcludedcanbeanalyzedbyTestMethodD1552.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.See3.2forspecificprecautionarydirectionsincorporatedinthetestmethod.
