【摘要】:Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthetimedependenceofstress(stressrelaxation)inmaterialsandstructuresunderconditionsofapproximatelyconstantconstraint,constantenvironment,andnegligiblevibration.Intheproceduresrecommended,thematerialorstructureisinitiallyconstrainedbyexternallyappliedforces,andthechangeintheexternalforcenecessarytomaintainthisconstraintisdeterminedasafunctionoftime.Specificmethodsforconductingstressrelaxationtestsonmaterialssubjectedtotension,compression,bendingandtorsionstressesaredescribedinPartsA,B,C,andD,respectively.Thesetestmethodsalsoincluderecommendationsforthenecessarytestingequipmentandfortheanalysisofthetestdata.Itisrecognizedthatthelongtimeperiodsrequiredforthesetypesoftestsareoftenunsuitedforroutinetestingorforspecificationinthepurchaseofmaterial.However,thesetestsarevaluabletoolsinobtainingpracticaldesigninformationonthestressrelaxationofmaterialssubjectedtotheconditionsenumerated,andininvestigationsofthefundamentalbehaviorofmaterials.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
